At some point, he pulled back again to ask if I wanted to go home. "It's late," he said. "I don't know if you have to be anywhere in the morning."

"I don't have to be anywhere, and I don't want to be anwhere except with you," I told him.

He looked at me, and I could tell he was struggling with what to say. "That might be a problem."
